  • Install template + demo without full joomla install?

    • Hi,

      Recently started building a new joomla site, however have decided to switch over templates to the new fracture template. There doesn't seem to be an option to download just the template + demo content with the only option being for a full re-install of joomla just to get the demo content in there.

      Is there anywhere I can download the demo content separately for the fracture template?

    • No, sorry, it doesn't work like that.

      To have the demo content you have to do a Fresh install using the Rocket Launcher. If you install another template source such as the BUNDLE or the STANDALONE the demo content will not be available as part of the install.

      If you are just beginning, it is my opinion that you will learn much from installing the Rocket Launcher with the demo content. With the RocketLauncher install you will be installing the demo content, the template layout, modules, extensions, and the code that comes with it.

      Before making a decision to re-install, study the Guides and Tutorials for the template. The tutorials will show you the information available that will help you replicate the content you will otherwise be missing.

      The difference between the BUNDLE and the STANDALONE is one has Gantry included and one does not. Example, if you have installed the bundle and Gantry was installed then want to install a different template, then you would install the 'Standalone' version.

      BUNDLE
      Do NOT use this package if the Gantry library has already been installed, either through a bundle package, or through a standalone Gantry install.

      STANDALONE
      Use this package if Gantry has already been installed, whether by a previous bundle install or separate independent Gantry install. Gantry is required for the template to work.

      ROCKETLAUNCER
      This package contains a full latest version of Joomla 2.5 install as well as the template and demo sample content allowing you to easily deploy a copy of the template demo site with a few clicks. (Only for use as a NEW Joomla install).
