    Multiple Home Pages

Posted 12 years 6 months ago
    • I have a client who wants to see ''multiple homepage versions'' of the site that I am creating for him. How do I go about, on the same website, have lets say 4 menu items and all 4 link to different pages with the demo look of the Rocket Theme Joomla Home Pages?

I already started by creating the site with Kirigami (Joomla 2.5 Rocket launcher) The home page is like the demo with my own content (text, info and photos) and I have created 4 other Menu items linking to 4 other pages.

I uploaded the Stand Alone version of Graffito and assigned it to the second menu item page. The Template has been assigned and I can see it (logo, menu look and colors) but how do I then go about applying each module from each separate template? They differ from template to template. I did not download the full package because I did not know if it would overide what I have already done on the initial Kirigami Homepage.

      Thank-you. :P

    • When you assign the template to the menu item, each module published on that page should use css files from that specific template

    • Would there be a quick way to do this? Installing a site via Rocketlauncher is very fast that's why I thought there may be a way of doing this. If not I would have to download each separate template, identify every module from the other sites as well as there locations and set-up details...

    • I just need a point in the right direction. I have 4 Template looks so far that I named in the top menu on the site to make it clear... but do not know how to set up the module parameters to get the look of each template. I started by the top Showcase Roksprocket module in each case but the original Template look stays. Do I need to create a new module each time, copy old one and change parameters? Once I figure out this step I should be able to apply it to all other modules on this project.

Here is the link to the site:

      Thanks again!

    • Yes, you have to create multiple copies of the modules and assign each module to that specific menu item

    • I did that but it still will not take the look and properties of each different template. I must be missing something.

    • LOL. :) We must not be looking at the same site because the Home page is Kirigami, Look 2 is Graffito and Look 3 is Fracture.

Look at the Roksprocket Feature Module on all 3 pages. I uploaded the exact size images as on the demo templates. They do not have the image size and setup like the demos. They do not take the right form and have glitches. navigation buttons, double + signs in Read More, image size etc... (fracture image is not all crooked like in demo)

In the second Mosiac Module... I kept all the images the same size but the way they are displayed should have changed according to each template. The Read More Buttons, double +, titles, etc...

This has to be just a newby detail I am still missing.

      ?????????????????????

    • Why didn't you just create 4 different subdomains, each with it's own installation and showed them to your client? You would be done in a minutes and with this you are spending days to solve this 8)
