SOLVED Dev site from scratch within the same accompt?

I never had to do this, so I'm not sure if a can...
I want to remake a website using a dev subfolder with a fresh install (RocketLauncher 2.5). But since there is problems with my original site (migrated from j1.5), I want to build a new database and take my time to reconstruct the site without touching the live site.
My live site is a 2.5.4 (I can't update to 2.5.8 for whatever reason) using Zephyr.
I want the new site to be a Cerulean 2.5.8 with a new database. I will work on it until I'm ready to replace the old one with the new.
Can I do that? I mean: is it the best way to do this and can I create a new database within the same accompt?
I would really appreciate a little help here, I'm really not sure how to do that.

Weather you can or can't add additional database under your account is strictly the feature of your hosting. If you have hosting account that allows creating multiple databases, then you are free to go.
You can, without any issue, add as many subfolders under your domain and use them to store multiple joomla installations - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision
