    • it is pretty cool if you can link dreamweaver up to a localhost install of wamp or xamp

Right now though, I am looking at phpeclipse and localhost hooked to the SVN trunk of 1.5
You can keep the latest version of 1.5 running as they fix bugs, and actually debug and modify anything in joomla and see instant results
the debugger is real cool if you are like me and make lots of basic syntax mistakes.

    • Well I set up xamp and did an install on the computer.
Downloaded the eclipse version that is outlined in the Joomla coders 101 and set my workspace to the htdocs folder of xamp.
Then downloaded the svn plugin for eclipse and hooked to the joomla trunk on jcode.
Down loaded the J1.5 into a new project in eclipse. This allows me to do daily updates on the SVN.

Then all you do is fire a browser to localhost and do the joomla setup.
Now you can edit the files directly in phpeclipse and see the results in the browser. You can even add a debugger plugin and your all set.

If you go to the joomla coders forum there is a tutorial that will walk you through
If you run into trouble we have a permanent chat on skype someone can help you out
there is a link there for that too
