Hello again to the RT community. I want to find a new RT theme, but would like to get some info first. I have several questions so I'll try to group them together to save time and posts. I've been using the 2008 Perihelion theme for years, and it's a pretty great template, but I think it's time for a change. I thought that everything I had was J 1.5, but in my admin account it now says Legacy 1.0. Ever since J 1.6 upgrades, I've been confused about all of this. I know that J 1.6 and higher is a different platform, but is 1.5 and Legacy 1.0 the same?
Before I choose a new premium theme, I'd like to try tinkering with one of the free ones first, just so I can get an idea of new layout. What is the right way to install a new theme in Joomla? Before, I just installed the whole installation pack, but I'm not sure if I can do that again. Can I just download the theme, and install normally? Will I lose any of the data I already have in my modules? Can my settings be saved? When I do install a new theme, what kind of problems might I run into?
Are there any new premium themes that can connect to social media sites? Such as a like/share on Facebook/Twitter button? Also, are there any new RT themes that have something like a newspaper or magazine layout?
Any help or advice will be appreciated.

My bad. I didn't notice the "no template questions" sticky before I posted, but now, I don't know how to move it or if I even should. I haven't been here for awhile. I thought it used to be $50 for a template and you had 2 months of support with that. I guess that's changed to a membership fee?
Here's a better question. Do I have to pay the $75 fee before getting advice on what template I should buy then?
