How to make Roksprocket background transparent

Hi
First off, apologies for posting here as I don't have permission to post in the Roksprocket forum for some reason.
Second, I have done a search in the forums and cannot find what im after, so I'm hoping a kind soul may be able to help me out.
I have installed Roksprocket (latest version) and am displaying a couple of articles in Slideshow mode. The problem I am having is that the article photos (well the module itself really) has a white background around it. This doesnt really fit with my template and I wanted to know if i could change the colour or make it transparent.
I have looked in the slideshow.css and tried to modify line 37 (.layout-slideshow .sprocket-features-title, .layout-slideshow .sprocket-features-desc {background: rgba(0,0,0,0.5);color: #fff;}) a few different ways but nothing works for me.
Sorry if its easy but I'm not that up to scratch with css.
