    url problems

Posted 12 years 2 months ago
    • Hi - my problem deals with not being able to change my urls from their original template-ready format.

For instance, when I installed the Metropolis template and redid the content on all the featured articles, I could not find a way to redo the long url's. So, on a page focusing on beginning music lessons, the URL is still this:

      www.365musiclessons.com/using-joomla/ext...ry-list/50-upgraders

Is there any way to change the URL so that none of these things - "using-joomla/extensions/components/etc" are mentioned in it? Nothing in the article's content refers to these things anymore, so I am not sure why these things are still in the URL.

      Thanks,

      Jamie

    • Your url is taken from the alias you are using for categories or articles

      using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/50-upgraders

      using-joomla is a catgeory
      as is
      extensions
      as is
      components

      etc. etc.

      the /50-upgraders

is the article. if you go into all of them and you've changed the name, make sure to remove the existing 'alias' so it then takes the name of your category or article

or add your own alias ...
