SOLVED Articles showing up as rt-pagetitle

On two different templates now I've noticed the word "articles" showing up as a page title ( rt-pagetitle class) though the REAL page title shows up underneath it as rt-title class. It seems to happen with pages that are linked from within other pages and don't necessarily have their own menu button.
Any idea how to stop this? If I create a menu item that links to that page I can turn this off, but for one of the two sites that would mean making 100 menu buttons I don't really need.
