Seo-Metadata, Menu level or each article?

Hi Guys
Hope well. I have a website with a good amount of articles.
Is it better to enter in metadata for each group of items at a menu level or do I have to enter it for each item? Each item will take a long time.
Whats the best way to go about this?

Hi there,
The best method is to do each article as it allows you to tailor meta to actual page content.
There are extensions that can do this for you but I prefer to be more hands on and work the page to match the search terms.
