Can I add another module position above content-top?

I want to add another module position above content-top positions while content-top-a and content-top-b are occupied.
How do achieve this?

Depends on the template you are going to use. For example if you were using Graffito you would have to edit the body_mainbody.php file to accommodate your changes. This is not a simple task.

In theory, yes.
The file to be edited will be html/layouts/body_mainbody.php
This level of customisation goes beyound our limits for support though.
