How in the world are the images being tweaked with roksprocket overlays in fracture? I am losing myself in the code trying to mix the slideshow feature overlay NONE with a different sprocket-feature-content overlay like FOLD.
I thought I could just shut off the image overlay easily but to no avail.

You will have to override css definitions in order to hide those overlay. Maybe this tutorial can help you to understand how to use Firebug with new LESS feature of our templates
