      Something like this in a Custom CSS file should do it:

      #wrapper {
      background-color: #000000;
      }

      BTW, are using Firebug in Firefox?

      Firefox: www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
      Firebug: getfirebug.com/

      You can inspect specific CSS elements on your website with a single click using Firebug.
