At the moment, DocMan is only compatible to J2.5 and is a commercial extension.
I recently upgraded my J1.5 sites with the latest version for J1.5 that doesn't require Legacy Mode to function properly.
Many new features since the previous version have been added and I am sure they will be available in version 3.
JoomaTools has a habit of not announcing release dates and sticks to the policy 'We will release it when it's ready'.
But I did hear something about June?
