    database prefix name change

    • I was redoing one of my sites from joomla 1.5 to joomla 2.5 and exported some database tables to my hard drive and uploaded them to the new joomla site's database. the prefix on the 1.5 tables are jos and the 2.5 they are all set to blr1v.

      How do I change the prefixes so they will be recognized when I import them into the database for the joomla 2.5.

    • There are a lot of different ways to do this but here's mine:
      1. Grab a copy of Notepad++
      2. export your J15 tables to a .sql file.
      3. do a Find & Replace ALL for "jos_" to "blr1v_"

      However you might still run into problems as I'm not sure if the DB table structure is the same in J25 as it is in J15.

      Did you use software to migrate your site from J15 to J25?

    • no, i had spam on my 1.5, so i just deleted the whole site. I installed the new 2.5 from here using the rockcetlauncher thinking i could just put the tables in the new database and be good to go. I did as you said about the notepad, it worked well enough though some tables were named differently but I could just change those names and it worked. My articles have been moved and my menu too, that's all I could ask for. Thanks.

      You might also want to pick up a copy of ACL Manager as it has a great assets repair feature. In J25 & 30 Asset tables are a pain in the butt.
