SOLVED Newbie -- Trying to Rocket Launch Firenzie -- No Luck -- Need Help!

    • Hey this is my first post -- be gentle.

I am using SiteGround as my ISP. I got the basic Firenzie template to load just fine, but I have tried everything I can find to get Rocket Launcher to work -- with no luck. My browser just will not recognize the file. It is probably a simple problem that any one of you could fix instantly. I would appreciate any advice you can offer. In fact, if there is anyone willing, I'd pay someone to get it running for me. I am tired of messing with it.

      I'm running Joomla 1.0.12

      Any ideas?
Anyone get Rocket Launcher to run on SiteGround?

      Thanks

      -Sahara

    • I'm not a Rocket Launcher expert or anything, but my understanding was that you run Rocket Launcher on a "blank" host account and it installs Joomla, the template, and content for you.

It won't install as a component, module, etc... in Joomla. You have to use FTP to load it to the site, then use the web-based system to run the full installation.

At least, that's my understanding as a non-RL-pro.

    • Thanks!

But I hope you are wrong about needing a clean ISP without Joomla already installed.

    • try the install again, but this time select "drop existing tables" option during install.

But...that's the whole point, RL is a COMPLETE JOOMLA PACKAGE installation. If you already have an active Joomla installation and just want to install Firenzie, just download the template and install it via the Joomla administrator.

If you DO however want the RL package and all the stuff that goes with it, simply delete the existing site files you have installed already (I assume it's a clean site with nothing in it), create a new database from your host control panel (note down the settings), then FTP the RL package files up there and run the installer. It's about 5 mins work tops.

    • Thanks everyone -- problem solved. The Rocket Theme people walked me through the install.
Apparently I was missing some critical files in my install folder.

The Rocket Theme support was excellent, and I appreciate those of you who took the time to
write me as well. I hope I can return the favor some day.

The Firenzie template is perfect for my application!
