How video-friendly are Rockettheme themes?

We use Rocketthemes for our WordPress sites, but the more we begin to rely on video, the more difficult time we're comfortable sticking with Rocketthemes. It's hardly just us, for instance:

• What website today doesn't better explain their service/product with a short video, or more? Some modern examples: with this one being a great example of a simple video slider:
• Zappo's widely exclaimed website model is based on displaying videos;
• Apple's home page increasingly features a video, they know a thing or two about marketing;
• 90% of our internet bandwidth will soon be video
• These themes even use video as the home page background: Meanwhile I can't figure out how to display any video on the home page at all without hacking the code.
1. The home page slider/showcase area.
2. The RokSprocket galleries, such as Mosaics.
I've looked through all the themes, and can't find anything for #1, and I've searched the forums for #2, and there seems to be only staff answers this week like "That should be possible. Did you try to embed YouTube embed code in the RokSprocket article and see how it looks like?" (and that's regarding Joomla, not WordPress), which IMO hardly shows a priority commitment to displaying video in Rocketthemes. - Last Edit: 9 years 5 months ago by Kat05.

Could you tell me some more info, will you host the videos your self or you will use the YouTube or Vimeo for hosting?
Another question how would you like your videos to appear to the client first he will see the thumbnail and then when he clicks modal window opens like this getpocket.com/ ? - Available for CUSTOM WORK with Joomla, WordPress and Grav Templates and Gantry Framework!

Hosted via YouTube or Vimeo.
Ideally it would play directly in the thumbnail with RokSpocket, like www.obox-design.com/demo-theme.cfm?theme=azione , and definitely so if in the showcase slider, like www.obox-design.com/demo-theme.cfm?theme=azione , given that the thumbnail is already at video viewing size. In the interim, a modal with RokSprocket would be a compromise, but any video in the home page slider in the showcase position needs to play without a modal.

- Well its not possible to put it in the place of the image, in any of the roksprocket modules i know what you are trying to accomplish. This can be done if you alter the RokSprocket and make another field that will show the video. I will put this to the feature request to the team and i believe that they will integrate this in the upcoming releases but i cant promise anything.

- Following up on this. We're looking for a theme that allows us to feature videos on the home page, and I still can't see any themes that do this. I'd rather stay in the RocketTheme family, so I'm asking here before looking elsewhere.

- Nope not yet, we don't have any info if it will be ever add this to feature request so maybe will see the day light sometimes in the future ...
