SOLVED As compared to theme Mynxx

    • Hi

First...I love my Mynxx theme (running on WP 3.9.1) and I hate to part with it. However, I've been told its too outdated and doesn't have the "responsive" portions to the template that allows the site to re-orgainize itself (moves the widgets around automatically while producing a new menu if needed) based on whatever the device is that's looking at my site (instead the site produces horizontal scroll bars). My site has been updated with current plugins and WordPress.

So - what theme is closest in look that I can update my site with minimum affects to my site? I do have some special coding that I did to some of the pages - and I understand I'll need to change the new ones to keep up with the demands I need, but I'd like to get something that is closest to Mynxx.

My account is not current; but I'll be renewing if I see you have a template that is close to Mynxx. :)

      Thanks

      Jim

    • Hi

Thanks for the response. I did that, but some look the same as others and its difficult to see what one (or two) is closest to the Mynxx. Do you think I'll have any compatibility issues with my data if I upload a newer WordPress template? I certainly don't want to load a new template and the data (after 2 long years) crashes. I don't have the flexibility to build a temp site and try some of the templates.

      TIA -

      Jim

    • There shouldn't be any issues but I really strongly advise you to first backup your website and then clone it into the test version and after that test everything first on the test version

    • Thanks for the response. I have now have a development site to "test" new templates and have updated my membership here.

      1) Must I update the Gantry framework first? If so, what is the best method to do that? I see from the download for the Lexicon it includes an update for Gantry framework.

      2) And are there any special permissions for installing new templates?

      TIA -

    • Thanks again..

Permissions: Outside of server permissions, I assume its a straight normal add theme to "wordpress" setup and nothing else is controlling how the updates get added.

I think I'm good to go.
