    • I'm a little Confused here and hope you guys can help out and understand what I need to do.

      I am Building a Website for a client that already has a site with the url www.fishbandit.com

      Now when I purchased his server I needed a url to build it on so I took www.charterwebsites.com .

      Now when I direct his URL to the server I'd like to get my URL back. But in a lot of the code and such it is referenced for the Pictures.. etc.

      What the easiest way to accomplish this.

      Thank You for you input

    • You can use a simple HTML redirect like this, changing the original index.html at www.fishbandit.com for ex. in oldindex.html. The new index.html will be:
      <HTML>
      <HEAD>
      <TITLE>Title</TITLE>
      <meta name="description" content="description">
      <meta name="KeyWords" content="KeyWords">
      </HEAD><!-- --><FRAMESET rows='0,100%' FRAMEBORDER='0' FRAMEBORDER='0' BORDER=0 FRAMESPACING='0'><FRAME SRC='' NAME='top' BORDER=0 FRAMESPACING='0' FRAMEBORDER='0' NORESIZE SCROLLING='NO'><FRAME SRC=' www.charterwebsites.com NAME='bottom' BORDER=0 FRAMESPACING='0' FRAMEBORDER='0' NORESIZE SCROLLING='YES'><noframes><body></body>
      </noframes></FRAMESET></html>

      P.S. Remove the title "RokSlideshow" from the module.

    • You have simply to redirect the old domain to the new one, "masking" the new domain name.
      But probably I didn't understand: you want simply the old domain pointing to the new site and showing the old domain name, or what else?

    • So, basically you have pics on your mate's site which are pointing to images on your own site, is that right?

      If that's the case, you'll have to have the images hosted on your mate's server and change the image links as appropriate in the code.

    • I am trying to understand.

      You purchased a hosting account in order to build a client's site, but instead of opening the account with his domain you opened with www.charterwebsites.com but now you need the domain to be www.fishbandit.com

      Is that correct?
      But in a lot of the code and such it is referenced for the Pictures

      When you add images in Joomla you don't have to reference the domain, just the folder and the name of the image.

      Example: the domain is http://www.yourdomain.com&nbsp; If you add a picture called logo which is in the images folder you would only enter images/logo.png not www.yourdomain.com/images/logo.png  ; so if you did that correctly then when you change the domain on the hosting account you shouldnt have an issue

    • Yeap!.. Right. No problem redirecting his doamin name.

      I understand the picture url's are just /stories etc Just wondering how I total take back control of the charterwebsites.com without having issues Will I/ when I go to use charterwebsites.com again.

      I want to be able to use that url to build sites. For Captains that already have a site

      Say even pre Build them, then sell them. But I'll need to keep using the url for new servers. ;D

    • Why not have a separate hosting account for charterwebsites.com and build clients sites in a subdomain?

      www.charterwebsites.com/clientsite1

      www.charterwebsites.com/clientsite2

      And once the site is done transfer it over to their host. Unless of course you are going to host the sites, then in that case I would recommend getting a reseller account. That way you can build the sites right where they are going to end up.
