Make unwriteable after saving checkbox in Joomla admin center

  • Make unwriteable after saving checkbox in Joomla admin center

    • I noticed that after a Rocketlauncher Populus install the checkbox that allows you to make unwritable after saving is missing. This can be seen in the RocketTheme video tutorials when editing the global configuration or making changes to the site themes index.php. Does anyone know how to turn this feature on? It makes the change from unwriteable to writeable easier.

      Thank you

WARNING: On some hosted servers after the configuration.php Unwritable check box is checked, the check box will no longer be available to allow access to the " Override write protection while saving" option and it will be necessary to manually reset the write permissions of the configuration.php in the joomla_root/ directory. If there is no access permitted to files by an FTP program or Control Panel, it will be necessary to contact the host to get them to do it.

    • I can change the permission on configuration.php and the template index.php via ftp. I can manually make this file writeable "which is how it is now" or unwriteable. It seems to me that the actual code that displays the checkbox feature is not working on the site. Right from the initial rocketlauncher installation it was never present.
