    Please design administrator templates

Posted 17 years 3 months ago
    • Not only do we get the best Joomla! templates on the web but also brilliant support! Two great services for one price, thanks. To top this off I think a great addition to Rocket Theme will be administrator (backend) templates.

Can we look forward to this??

Please vote to help express demand for this service. ;D

    • NO really Dan; :D I think there is potential here, no real business site will like someone sticking administrator the end of their domain name to end on this page show joomla control panel as header! sure even if it means styling that page will be helpful some gi---ants

    • I think larger corporations would rather spend money/effort on locking the administrator away from public view in the first place. Admin templates just seem like a waste because no-one will see them; plus in my experience they are nice for 5 mins before you get fed up with the differences in interface and switch back to the normal template.

Besides, the Joomla! header on the default template would be very easy to modify.

    • Wasted effort. Unless it could offer some advanced or customized functionality, I don't see the point. There's only one thing I want for the admin interface that is missing, a WYSIWYG toggle switch. So if I go to edit something, one click and my wysiwyg is on-off. Other than that it already does what I need.

You buy a tie and jacket to match your shirt and pants. Nobody cares what your underwear looks like.

    • I don't know about you guys, but I don't like looking at then same screen all the time and if a new admin template can spice it up a little so be it. Also, even if you don't change the template I am a fan of customization of the back end.

You would be surprised the nice comments you get from clients just for adding their logo to the back end; even if they only see it once and for 5 minutes.

    • I used to think that admin template modification was pointless, but several of my clients have asked for the Joomla! branding to be removed, and replaced with their corporate branding (IE, the template stays the same, but their logo/typography/slogan goes in the top where it normally says Joomla!).

I think that there is a corporate mindset that wants employees who are logging in to be constantly reminded that it is company property or something.
