removing margins

I would like to remove the margins or background and run my working page out to the edge of the browser window. For example the majority of Drupal Templates are more to my liking, but the joomla core is what i want to work with. Joomla templates, this page at rocket theme, all seem to have some sort of margin on the left and right and a working area with all the content in the center. I just want the white part of the page with the ability to set margins or blank space inside that. Is there some sort of Joomla requirement for burning all this space with a dead background?
I've been editing the css of the digimania template, which has similar blue borders to this page, but all I can do is shift the box around on top of the margins. - Last Edit: 17 years 3 months ago by grantiago.
