    Blog 1.0 versus 1.5

    • I really could use some help from the experts at RocketTheme. I need a blog Component...what should I use. Rocket themes blog is nice. I want the blog to work with the Populus templet. With the blog selection, what version of joomla should I use, 1.0 or 1.5. Is there going to be a RocketLauncher available soon for other templates...is there a time line. Lastly if I go with Joomla 1.0 to save work and time...how much work would it be to convert or move blog content to 1.5. I keep going back and forth and I really could use some advice with people that have worked with joomla more than I. This is only my second site and I find it hard not to work with the RocketLaunch installs. ANY advice or answer would be appreciated.

    • RT is using WP, not even wrapped into the RT mothership. I, too, considered using WP for a blogging solution, but would rather it be wrapped into the site...not sure the implications with this, but would love to hear the pros and cons.

      If you were to go this route, there would be no work to migrate your blog content over from J1.0.x to J!1.5, as it would be a WP blog. :)

      I am now looking at MyBlog and Jom Comments to get this done, but keep considering going the WP route.

      I do not think MojoBlog has not been released for 1.5. I guess I am wondering if I used either MojoBlog or JomComment and started out with 1.0, how painful is it to move to 1.5. I want to be able to control comment posting through user registration. I do not want to have to worry about spam...though if JS is using Wordpress they must have pretty good Spam control.

      Still hoping to hear about timelines on RocketLauncher for 2007 templates????
      How painfull would it to post move to 1.5 for either of these blogs.(JomComment/MojoBlog)
