Pro Membership Questions

    • I'm new here and loving these templates so much I'm thinking about the Pro membership.

Is there a way to demo the templates without sending somebody to your site? I would like to offer "templates" to customers and for them not to know where they come from.

And that's not a put down of your site, its just that if I'm just going to send them here I could just get an affiliate account and have them sign up. But my customers won't want to create accounts all over the web to have me build them something.

      Thanks

    • Now first off, I am not an expert on this, nor do I speak for the management here.
I believe that you can indeed create a template demo, however I would think that you will need a separate Joomla install for each template - there may very well be a way around this that I am unaware of and if so, I am sure someone will pipe up.

I hope that this somewhat helpful.

    • I think your right about the separate joomla install unless I just used a static "picture" of each template but a dynamic template would sell easier.

Maybe a "vanilla" demo page for pro memberships would be something they could offer.

Given the (by my estimation) very limited interest in a demo page and no really return for the RT team, I think the RT team is would better serve the community by focusing on knocking out these astounding templates and the other goodies coming down the pipe (Rocketwerx for example). That's just my $0.02. ;)

Using the RocketLauncher installs, you could have the various templates up fast, the big job would be adding/ editing the content for each template to reflect your own business.

Just off the top of my head.

      Cheers

    • Actually, they (RT) discourage creating a demo site...from what I read. Plus, just to give you heads up...finding a template to suit your needs is better than making a template suite your needs.

If a client likes a template and it sucks for what is needed for that site...then you have to A) Tell the client it doesn't work or B) Modify the crap out of it. And I am not talking just images (graphics).

From my experience (amounts to a hill of beans :P ) - I picked out templates I liked only to find out it didn't fit my needs. So, I learned via trial and error to pick out template based on my needs then...I can always adjust the graphics.

      Just my opinion... ;)

    • Another idea is creating a form...that askes lots of questions about what your client is looking for....then based on their answers... you show them a template... and hope it sticks...

      I agree with you

I guess I'm just looking for a way to show clients what options are available. I guess I will just have to stick to showing them completed sites and then showing them a template or two that would fit their needs.
