  • SOLVED Long and short web address

    • I've no idea how this has happened but on my Joomla site I now only get the domain name. IE www.mywebsite.co.uk
      No matter what article or page im looking at it stays the same. It used to be the full address of the page so I could easily link to that page. Can anyone shed some light on what's gone wrong?

      You may want to find out if your domain is being "forwarded(re-directed)".

      I've seen this with domains being forwarded to another domain.

      For example:

      domain2006.com is being forwarded to domain2001.net with masking.

      domain2006.com can mask the actual domain2001.net domain so that when you visit domain2006.com it will actually take you to domain2001.net and leave the domain2006.com web address in the browser. That is why you can't directly link to it via bookmark or whatever.

      Find out what domain name it is actually going to and link to the "absolute path".

      Lemme know if I just confused the heck out of you.
