Myriad Gantry 5 update

I found the updates to Myriad and I successfully updated to Myriad 1.8
then I install the latest Gantry 5
Then I installed Myriad 2.1.13
I noticed that this Gantry 5 version did not automatically convert the site upon updating.
it had some options there to load sample data and configure the site but I was too scared to try anything.
How do I convert my Mriad 1.8 site to the Gantry 5 version without losing work to the site?
was I suppose to choose one of those options?
In order to get those options back in front of me must I re-install the stand alone Myriad 2.1.13? - Last Edit: 5 years 1 week ago by neuclix.

There is no migration path from g4 myriad to the g5 version. They are two completely different frameworks with different workflows and ways of implementing functionality. You effectively have to start over again and redevelop your site.
