    JACL plus - Locked me out of site... HELP!!

    • I recently installed JACL plus only to experience nothing but problems... I was locked out of the site, couldn't even get into the back end. Requesting a new password solved the back end problem but I still can't log into my site from the front end.

      I've removed the component and gues what... I'm still locked out >:(

      Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this shocking component? I've searched through their forum and there must be dozens of unanswered posts from people all with the same problem! The last thing I want to do is start my site from scratch!
      Help anybody please...

    • Restore the backup you made right before you installed your new extension, just like everyone else does.

      If you don't have one, I'll bet you will next time you install a new extension. :)

      Sorry, can't be of any more help than that, other than to suggest to contact the maker of JACL or see if they have a support forum.


      One suggestion, if you are using a custom login module, try publishing the standard Joomla login module and login via that, see if it works. Sometimes custom modules work a tad different than stock. See if there's an update to the custom login module you're using.

    • Contacted the developers numerous times to no avail.

      I always backup... except this one time :'(

      This component might as well be a #$(&!n@ virus!!

    • If it was me, here's what I'd do. Do a backup of what you have now. Restore it on a test or local server.

      Revert to the latest backup you have that works. Go to your test server and manually move your recently updated content. Or see if the dev can help you.

      I have thought about doing that but there is a lot of work involved, I guess I hoped someone had a solution as the number of posts on the dev's forum shows I'm not the only one suffering from this infection. I've emailed the developers loads... no reply though!!
