    • Hi. It's me. I'm supporting every post on these forums. If you like a theme, buy it. If you like a lot of themes, buy a developer license. If you don't like a theme don't buy it. Not sure how any of that would amount to fraud.

    • Long time user of RT here, still a member. Always check back for new templates. Nothing new, been a year or more? I worry now (perhaps without good reason) that I'm missing out on the latest web tech when it's so long between anything new. Sad sign of the times really.

      Anyway happy new year all.

    • Honestly not a great reply there Matt.

I've used RocketTheme since 2009. FW114's post is clearly a customer who is frustrated that templates aren't being updated to latest PHP and Joomla codebases, no development on new templates for a VERY long time and no clear communication from RocketTheme as to what the future will be.

This has resulted in many customers, myself included, moving away from RocketTheme, as your templates are no longer compatible with my hosting package which uses newer versions of frameworks like PHP and Joomla which breaks the templates. I'd like to continue using RocketTheme, but there is a distinct lack of communication between the company and its customers which doesn't foster the trust required to devote time to build a site using these old templates if they are no longer going to be updated or release new ones.

It's a testament to the satisfaction we felt in the past with RocketTheme that we do check back here semi-regularly to see if there have been any changes in the way that RocketTheme is working. We are all hoping that things turn around, that you start releasing new templates, using newer particles and css, and if possible, updating the old tempaltes to work on newer framework versions. However I admit that every time I check back here, I am less and less likely to ever use RocketTheme templates again as development seems to have totally halted.

You're telling your customer if you don't like it don't buy it. So that's what they're going to do. I don't see how that's a win for RocketTheme. We want you to win, we want to re-subscribe and use your products. But you need to be making new products and updating them.

    • Hate even having to ask this, but DTAL, Who do you use now? I really trust RT, and no idea where to go from here.

    • I am using RT themes for Grav and my first purchase was in October 2017. Before that I was a happy user of Joomla, some time I was also a Czech local user community leader providing documentation, lectures a translation to Joomla community. Than suddenly I left the community because of the way it was driven.

I found Grav and then I found that there is a possibility to have some "professional" templates from RT. I imediatelly bought one and then stayed with Grav Tepmplate club. I am a proud supporter of your activities. And lets stick with fact, that I am pure hobbyist and I do not provide any professional support for customers, just built up some non commercial projects for friends and projects I like.

However - Last 2 years there is no good progress and a lot of silence. Even for myself, as I am constantly testing Grav and using it as a sandbox to be able to see trends in CMS etc. And this is the biggest pain I can feel.

What is the future of RT?
      Will there be some progress?
      Can I have new template?
      Can I have more particles?
Can I prepare some fancy website with help of RT templates?

The answer is pretty easy - Not at all.

What I can see here in the forum is, that people are loosing their patience. I have one bad experience which looks pretty simmilar to RT site (company). Maybe you have heard about JoomlaXTC. They had good templates for Joomla, which were good and creative, a lot of users were using them and paid for subscriptions. They even sold Lifetime access for some good money. But they closed their business some time ago. This caused a lot of bad emotions.

The reason I am talking about this is that I can see the paralel with RT as of now. JoomlaXTC support was slowly dying, the frequency of updates or new content as well and then nobody was answering questions about what is going on and no clear statement about future etc. Also there were some offensive posts in their forum in a manner the last from Matt. But the most hated thing was, that to the last day of their existence they were offering subscriptions and content for money.

Considering all of this into account, there are some signs that your customers are littlebit confused with the situation and asking for statement. They are asking to have enough facts to trust your company or not from the future perspective. I think that there is nobody who want to blame you, we just lack the information for longer period than usual and we are kindly asking for it. We can understand anything you will say. All we have now is just personal inconvenience and rumours. And silence.

Personal question to you - If you were me, can you somehow convince me, that I should spend money on your products or even to pay subscription? What is the added value of your service? When I will be providing a site for any commercial subject I am cooperating with, I just plan my activities for years, not months, not weeks. Should I trust you, that you will provide me support for that period?

The facts I can see from the site and forums - I am not sure. We somehow lost the full trust to your company, but some is still there. But every single day with silence from your side we are slowly loosing the rest of it.

This is the core information we are trying to get. We are asking months for this. Nobody is providing that information...
