I know that there are a few different items out there as mods for joomla, like Docman and a few others. But i am looking for a bit more of a straight forward sending and receiving of file system that is database driven. Something where when I post a file for a specific client they get an email and a file name and password to download the file, or they can log into their account and download it.
I had something at one time developed and feel that it contains some great potential for the direct marketing industry, but I realize it is lacking some of the new features in PHP5. These are things that I don't know how to do.
So I guess I am throwing this out there to see if there is some opensource project that fits the bill, or if someone is interested in looking at the code I have already invested a bit into having developed.

Using a forum might be a perfect solution for this....
[A user posts a request,] you pm the user and attach the file, they receive an e-mail stating they have a pm, open it and download the file. - Thanks,

- Actually the forum would not work, the idea behind what I am looking for is that I may have hundreds of clients wanting to upload. But I want to give them only one choice (me). But I need to be able to push down to the clients and ensure that their files are secure and that no other user above the owner of the site (me) can see the files.
