    • I cannot get the rocket launcher to run as well. I am trying to install the replicant RT installation and I have done everything step by step it is all on the server under the Public_html/joomla/Joomla_RT_Replicant_j15/but I cannot get this to pull up at all. can some please give me the command line to get the installer to launch. I have done a joomla install before on another server and had no problem at all. Why do I have to use my browser to do this when there is ftp and cpanel on the server itself to perform admin functions with. I have never had a problem with a specific address before but I just keep getting a 404 error code when I use this one above. Man this has been frustrating. I am just about ready to give one of you J-masters access to my server to help me. I await your replies! This will be done! can someone please tell me all the software I need to make sure Joomla can run on this server. I am pretty sure its all there but who knows what I may have forgotten. (NOOB)

while some on here will say it's easy and quick, thats because some of us on here have done it more times than we care to remember. here is what i do:

      1. create the database and jot down the name/user/password
      2. create a development area e.g. /dev
      3. upload the package file and unzip to /dev
      4. move all the files from the unpacked location up one level to /dev
      5. go to /dev and enter in database information
      6. LOAD SAMPLE DATA
      7. finsih and delete the /install directory

bish bash bosh. you're done .. i think.
      3.

    • well damn! I have tried just about everything there is and no joy. Is there some magic word to get the installation to run. I have done everything but type in "please install" I guess I just don't get it. I have tried everything you guys have told me not to mention I have done an install before (Not w/1.5 though). I guess it is time to get back on the phone with tech support even though they do not know a thing about joomla. talk about frustration.

    • yes I did, I also watched another one that was very similiar. I am guessing that it is a head space and timing issue on my part. Stay tuned I do not give up easy.....

    • allright! I have got it installed. Now how do I get it to pull up under the domain name since everything is in a subdirectory under the public_html folder do I move the index file? Right now when I type in www.modernwarfighters.us I get a directory listing. When I used fantastico on the server to auto install joomla it did the same thing except it installed an unstable copy so I went back to the tradition method and finally figured it out. Now to just get it to pull up right...any suggestions or advise from the hero section? help the noob guys.

    • Congratulations!

      Site opens with this link:

      www.modernwarfighters.us/Joomla/

Simplest thing would be to do a redirect throught the control panel of your host.
    • Thanks,
