Front Page read more links

    • Have looked on Joomla's main forum but can't find an answer to this question.

I have a site where a number of content items are regularly flagged (checked) to appear on the Front Page, in addition to appearing on a given interior menu page. My front page has a number of active modules near the top of the page, certainly more than on the interior menus.

The problem is that when a reader clicks the READMORE link on any content item that is on the front page, the page reloads with all the active modules for the Front Page menu. So when they click 'read more', the page refreshes and once again displays the same active modules higher on the page. It causes the reader to have to scroll further down the page just to see where the linked article actually starts, and gives the impression that all he has done is reload the Front Page.

Is there a way for any Read More links on the Front Page to automatically link to the corresponding menu of the article instead?

    • What version of Joomla are you using Howie, 1.0.x or 1.5.x?

    • That particular site is running Joomla 1.0.12. You hit the issue right on I think - looks as though if I upgrade to 1.0.15, I'll have an option to adjust the ItemId in Global Settings > Content (1.0.11 compatibility mode), and my issue will resolve -- correct?

      Thanks Roland.
