Never trust those tools, they are actually wrong when dealing with our styles. If you use Firebug, might I suggest enabling the NET tab to see exactly what is being loaded.
Those free tools show that your site is slower than it actually is, 'commercial intent' comes to mind.
Trust me, all 12 themes and their images are NOT loaded, only the one that is visible. Now, if you go through all 12 styles with the style changer, you are obviously going to load each style when the page loads. - James Spencer / Developer & Support / Hull, UK
