Anyone have a program that they can recommend to display basic tables? I use Joomla 1.5 and the table needs to be able to be sorted on the front end. Thanks so much

Fabrik looks a little to in depth for me... I just need to be able to display info in basic tables... Thanks though! Anyone else have any ideas? I looked all day at the JED yesterday with little results
Too indepth? You don't need to know a single string of php or SQL to create complex tables displays with Fabrik.
There is one more component I know of that does this...Link Query Manager (LQM), or something like that...but you need to really know your SQL to pull that one off....
Other than that, none that I am aware of...did you find anything else since your first post on the subject? I have found a ton of 'form engines,' none of which allow for a table display of the data on the frontend.
Just an FYI - while fabrik seemed simple to set up and "use" - I finally gave up on it. It was somewhat confusing to figure out how to make it do what I wanted. I actually could not get it to display a simple form I created. GRANTED - I did not spend much more than a week trying to figure it out...AND I would probably go back to it first should I need something like that in the future...
There also didn't seem to be much help on the site for joomla 1.5 and the fabrik 2.0 version...

That must have been awhile ago...more than 1,000 SVN updates for Fab 2.0 running on J1.5 now.
If you ever revist it, I could lend a hand...'Terp' in the forums over there, but you could PM me and I could offer some tips. It's really simple once you get your head around it: create a table (and Fabrik creates the form, groups, and elements), then add some elements, then publish it; it's that simple.
Ok, Terp, got it running, but I'm having an issue. I would ask at fabrikar, but they confuse me - a lot... I am NOT at all familiar with database and database terminology. I was able to upload my mp3's, and view them in the table, but when I attempted to right click to download them, it wanted to download the index.php file...

Sure, I'll take a look at it; do you have a direct link to the table (didn't see it when I navigated through the site) or a user password to see it on the frontend if restricted to registered members?
Are you using a 'file upload' element to get the files in, then displaying them in a table? If so, do you have 'link to file' toggled on in the element settings?
I reread your post and just thought of something else to check: go into the edit element section, click on 'table settings' and make sure 'link to details' is turned off.
If you have this setting on, it will behave as you mention, as it's trying to compile a new page to show all the form field details...but you just want the file name link to fire a save/open option.
Both of those helped, Terp...and I had already set those for another element so I should have known better...but thanks!!! I think I'm all good now. I needed to redownload it from the SVN. Starting with a poor version never helps anything. :cheesy:
