Well, i for one am very dissapointed that MS didn't fix the glaring bugs and issues in the IE7 and we (web designers) are going to be forced to create IE7 specific CSS files to go along with those IE6 specific CSS files, while every other browser (firefox, safari, opera, etc) work just fine with the standards.
Anyway, starting next week I will start to update the existing templates to ensure they support IE7. Cheers.
I hear you Andy....IE=thorn in my side too. About three years ago I started having all sorts of problems with IE. Then my friend who is waaaay more knowledgable than I, told me to ditch IE and go with Firefox. I thought he was crazy....I don't like change!!!! But I did, and the only time I use IE now is to preview the sites I create.
Good luck and no huge rush on this. Hope your move is going well. I moved last December and the worst was finding a place for all my stufff in boxes...ugh..
Andy, I'm very sorry as well to hear that MS has not followed suite again...
I use the rt_modernbusiness theme for our ISP website and it is not going to be a happy time when 7 gets pushed by microsoft's auto updates.
If you have IE7 installed
www.cabletv.on.ca/
the left colum breaks. Very sad.
Andy about how long do you expect this to take to update?
Thanks
I installed RC2 about a month ago and promptly removed it because of all the alignment issues
Does anyone know if they did anything with the way text rendering was handled? It gave everything a nasty blurry effect from all the anti-aliasing and I never did figure out how to turn it off. Time to ditch IE and move to FF methinks
IE7 has been no fun at all in the 2 weeks since I (gulp) installed it to see what I was in for.....
I am sure youv'e all heard this one:
How many Microsoft executives does it take to change a light bulb?
None, Bill Gates just calls a meeting and changes the standard to darkness.
But seriously It's more true now than ever before......
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
lol It's hard enough coding for 1 standard let alone 2....
I always have trouble remebering to edit the IE CSS files//
I have also found IE displays differently on other peoples PC's ......just to add to that doubt factor...
I say Protest!
Script IE out and let MS fix it when the 40 million complaints get lobbed at them!
Put up a banner....
Dear IE user, we are sorry to inform you that your browser (Internet explorer) is a defective product and will not display this website properly, we strongly suggest using a web browser complient with current CSS / HTML Standards!
Thank god IE7 has not messed up my mobius template too much. Simple fix and all it dandy ;D
Now if only the same could be said for Opera For some reason all my ajax->DB related stuff refuses to work in that browser if it nested inside another component. GRRR!
