Is there a way to make a content item link to a pdf file, and open in a 'wrapper'?

- Hello Chris, I think you just need to put a link in the wrapper component like: www.yoursite.com/directory/filename.pdf

If I put it in a wrapper, then I will have a link in the top menu or the main menu, correct?
I am trying to have a content item pull up the pdf file without needing to insert the link into an article. I would like it to show up as a wrapper though (encased in joomla).
