Hi Sandra!
There is a good guide on how to migrate from Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 here:
docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_1.0.x_to_1.5_Stable
It all sounds scary at first, but if you take your time and have a complete backup just in case, it isnt all that bad. I recommend that you install a complete copy of your site on a local server (like Xampp) and practice first.
