hostgator or Rochen for reseller ??

Posted 16 years 3 months ago
    • hi everyone :cheesy:

im about to order a reseller account and it seems that hostgator.com and rochen are the best out there regarding their prices and features

im confused because the features they offer seem almost the same ( im not really expert in this field)

so what do u guys suggest ? ?
or do u guys prefer a third reseller company ?

    • Hi Muhanad!

I am actually on the same mission right now, but also looking at bluehost.
Havent checked all the details yet, but really interested to see what people here have to say. :)

      Thanks, Kat

    • I have a reseller account at Hostgator and have nothing but good things to say. It just works, support is great and the fastest of any provider I've ever used (6 others).

Hostgator has a 30 day money back so you can test drive them real easy. The server I'm on has dual quad processors so in WHM it shows up as 8 CPU's. Always fast and any glitches I encountered were self induced.

I don't have any experience with Rochen so nothing to add there.

Seconding this in every regard. I use their reselling account as well and it's worked out extremely well. Everything is simple, feature-packed, their support is fantastic and I haven't had a single issue as of yet.

The best thing I ever did was drop my terrible hosting and sign up with these guys.

    • I asked myself this very same question and decided on Rochen.

You did get 'unlimited' bandwidth and a bazillion Megs of storage with Hostgator, but they clearly are overselling their servers...my neighborhood is starting to fill up on Rochen...was about 200 other sites on my shared server. I'm guessing Hostgator will put about 1K on a server?

I am still planning to try HostGator out as a good plan B, though. ;) But it sounds like you can't go wrong with either, but Rochen has been great to me...only have opened one service ticket since I joined and that was to upgrade to the reseller. ;)

    • i think im gonna go with Gatorhost simply because they are getting good reviews just like how Rochen does .. but they offer more space/ than rochen and they have a discount now .. and if i dont like what i see after .. i will ask for refund ..

terp .. u have a point .. but overselling doesnt equal to overloading ..
and it seems that ppl are happy with Gatorhost .. and they dont face slow loading websites .. so overselling is a sign of a good product here .. so yea like what have u said .. it seems u cant go wrong with either ..

thanks guys for sharing ur experience .. and i would definitely post my experience with gatorhost after a while ,,,

    • When you get it, if you want to set me up with a little space for a few days, I'll do the same and we could clone one of our sites, stick it on the other host, then run some good controlled test to check for speed and handling. ;)

    • You can do adult hosting on Gator. But it doesn't have all the bells and whistles Rochen has for building and managing your site. I found Rochen much more user friendly, the staff is responsive - like real responsive real people kind of way.

      My two cents...

    • Yea, having 999 neighbors hosting porn and having our IP range blocked was an afterthought. ;)

(not that there's anything wrong with porn).
