Hi, I have been getting used to some free Joomla templates on my server recently.
I decided to take the plunge and join RocketTheme to purchase some templates.
I have everything installed and Akiraka up and running due to the learning process I went through with the free templates...
What I would like to do is use 1 of my 3 entitlement for a site - How do I go about doing that?
How does that work?
Do 'Rockettheme engines' find the site and recognise it's a paid for...?
eg: If I create a site for my brother - how do Rockettheme recognise it's not paid for by him?
sorry if this is a little simple, but I just want to clarify the legality of my sites & payment for them.
Somebody might come in here and add something, but it's mostly about you respecting the terms of service that you agreed to when signing up.
It's very difficult to monitor usage of the templates, much like it's very difficult for Microsoft or Apple to monitor how many boxes you put their software on.
Okay, so I develop my two sites for my own business and a site for my brothers.
After the 365 days run out, theres no more template choices to use - but the three sites are still RocketTheme copyright/legal (RocketTheme can't take it down as such).
Then whatever templates I may decide upon to use on the sites are permanent unless
I upgrade etc. Correct?
if you are using your 3 entitlements (meaning have 3 live sites with rt templates) you can keep those sites running for as long as you like.
lets say you will have
1 site - akiraka
1 site - versatility 4
1 site - replicant 2
thats all good.
during your membership you have access to all RT templates and can download them to your pc.
after your membership runs out, you can still use those templates, but on max. 3 sites only and you will not have access to the templates, that get released after your membership is finished. you alse will not have any more access to the member support forums.
that means, if in 12 months (or whenever) your membership is expired, you are still free to change all of the existing sites to other templates.
you can make akiraka site run on hyperion
you can make versatility site run on mixxmag
you can make replicant2 site run on terrantribune.
all good, as long as you dont have more than 3 live sites running.
I have a question that follows on from this thread.
I currently have a membership that allows for me to have 2 entitlement. and I understand from reading the forums that these 2 entitlements will continue even after my subscription runs out (which it is due to do soon.
i.e. 2 live Sites - running 1 theme each - under my initial subscription - even once the subscription has ended.
as per above, my current subscription is due to run out soon. My aim is eventually to go for a developer subscription and start to really play around with the templates. however, I am unfortunately able to fund this yet. My question is this.....
I have had 2 entitlements with subscription A, which are mine even when subscription A ends
if I re-subscribe ( either with an upgrade ($75), or brand new subscription once expired ($90) ((((this package has 3 entitlements)))) will this mean that I get to keep my original entitlements (A=2) and use a further 3 entitlements from the new package (B=3) therefore having a total of 5 entitlement over 2 different subscription periods.
As I have mentioned, this is not my ideal and I aim to move on to developer as soon as I can.
You can think of your entitlements as 'tokens'. 1 token = 1 template on 1 site ... forever. So, subscription A bought you 2 tokens ... subscription B will buy you 3 more tokens. A + B = 5 tokens ... forever.
