    Forum on Front Page?

Posted 16 years 2 months ago
    • Hello all,

Is there a way to put a forum right there on the front page? Not sure which forum softeware I intend to use but I do want to put it in plain sight of the reader.

Specifically, I'm using TerraTribune now. The site is www.montarafog.com

What I want to do is eliminate all of the section boxes (Insights, Local News, etc) and replace it all with a forum area--not a "latest posts" but the actual forum.

Is there a way to do that?

    • You could use a Wrapper Menu item as the Home Menu and publish the Modules you want to appear there.

But you would lose the unique URLs to the posts in the address bar.
    • Thanks,

Drats. So I couldn't link to another post from within a post (or e-mail). Any way around that?

    • I had a look at the menus in the back-end...just to be clear are you saying that by making the Home a wrapped item I woudl still keep the rotating image and headline section of the front page (and the stuff at the bottom? I'm only looking to replace the section boxes...

      Thanks,

Not with a Wrapper Menu item.

Menus > Menu Manager > (mainmenu) Menu Items > New > Wrapper >

Name it Home, enter the URL of the forum, Save

Module Manager > For each Module you want to appear on that Menu, choose it and set it to display under Menu Assignments.
    • Thanks,
