    A joomla question

    Posted 16 years 2 months ago
    • Hello,

      It seems this has slipped my mind but there's something in my head that is telling me that it is possible to bypass reviewing an article that is published by an author.

      Everytime an author publishes an article via the Joomla Submission article form he/she gets this message
      Thank you for your submission. It will be reviewed before being posted on the site.

      How do i bypass the this stage so that an author and above can publish their articles immediately?

      Anyways thanks for reading...

      I believe I solved this a while back but I can't remember... or was it through a 3rd partyextension?

      My mind is driving me nuts!!! :evil:

    • Hello JEM,

      Great to hear from you. Must have been an extension that allowed users to publish without being reviewed.

      I really thought that it was possible for users such as authors and above to publish their articles without their submission being reviewed using the the Joomla core submission article. Must've been wrong...

    • Yves.. you the man! Haven't implemented it yet but I had to thank you first! Just how do you find these? Google? I have no luck with google. Must have some special "Feeling Lucky Button" :D :D :D

      Just for everyone's sake this is what bypasses the authorization...
      - locate and open libraries/joomla/user/authorization.php,
      - locate function (constructor) JAuthorization($options = NULL) and a series of $this->addACL( ... ) within that function,
      - now, add the following line:
      $this->addACL( 'com_content', 'publish', 'users', 'author', 'content', 'all' );
      }
