Gallery2 with Carbonite.... Help!?

Hello fellow Joomlers,
I have several Thousand pictures from events and concerts here in Hawaii, and have been using the Gallery2 with Bridge option for some time.
Recently I implemented the clean and stylish Carbonite Template from RocketTheme, and it seemed to work well enough with the Gallery Bridge. But not great.
The Gallery2 loads SOOO slow, and the Ajax Template doesn't really integrate well into my Carbonite Joomla Theme. Is it that I have too many pics? Is there any CSS modifications you might suggest? Is there a better Gallery option for a user with this many (15,000) pics?
Any suggestions?
