Upgrading to developer

Hey guys I'm hoping someone can answer a few questions. I just want to make sure that I understand everything correctly before I upgrade.
I'm thinking about upgrading my subscription to developer and was wondering if I will get a whole year from todays date or if the upgrade only lasts as long as my current subscription (nov 09)?
When purchasing developer subscription am I allowed to both use the templates as a freelance designer and as a designer within a design firm? I mostly work freelance but I am collaborating with a few individuals on projects and we sell out our work under a company name. I'm just wondering if I'm allowed to use the templates on those projects as well.
