- Hey! anyone got SEO tips for my website. I have been searching for a while for a extensions which helps with SEO.. Anyone knows any good SEO extension or got tipe for me. Also can someone tell me how to get rid of default site name on different pages, cause it appears on every single page.

there are various extensions around to help with SEO. The one I always use is a free patch which gives you a little bit more control over your meta descriptions and headings. At the moment, they haven't released a patch for 1.5.14 so if that's what you're using, you may have to wait if you want to install it. There is also SH404SEF which enables you to create custom URLs. if you go to Joomla extensions and type in search engine optimisation, you'll get quite a few extensions.however, I only used the patch

When I set up a website, I tend to check out any competition or websites doing a similar theme. I also use keywordspy.co.UK which gives you an idea of the sort of keywords people are using to find websites. To use the full version it's darned expensive, however you can register a free account and gained limited access, ill give you a head start anyway.
I tend to concentrate on just Google for search engines because all the other websites will start indexing you if you can get it right on Google. Occasionally you may want to add your website to some search engines, probably a good idea if it's a brand-new website.
try to make your meta headings descriptive making sure that they contain various keywords.There is nothing worse a page heading that says something like "welcome to my website", or home which I have seen quite a few times .
Optimising a website can be a long drawnout process, especially if your website is not in a "niche" category. One of the most important things you must consider if you want reasonably good ranking is getting plenty of external links. External links make an absolutely huge difference. The spiders will actually find your website through other people's websites if you are linked from them. However, a link on a crappy little forum isn't really going to do much good. The better quality website, more Google will like that.
It can take many many months before you may even be able to find your website. So it's a good idea to have some site statistics so you can see exactly what is going on and how people are finding your website.
