(FIXED) Did I just break my site? Text editor not working

    • OK....I'm hoping this is something simple... in a nut shell my text editors aren't applying any .css styles, not even if I just type some text and make it bold... it just shows it plain, no spaces no formatting what so ever (Tried this with Tinymce, Joomlafck and JCE154 none work)

      History before the problem:

      Installed a RocketTheme template...(versatility 4)

Didn't change the CSS, just added lots of verbiage and some modules here and there, pictures, added and deleted some articles, and menu items etc..

I made a sub domain and copied the files over to see if it moved everything over to the sub domain.

I DID NOT create a new database for this new sub domain, as i just wanted to see if the front end would show up.

It worked fine, and of course since both sites reference the same database, change something in one site it reflects in the other...no biggie for now.

But that's when I went to edit an article and noticed my editors stopped working and all the formatting disappeared. The formatting options appear in the format drop down but they don't apply when you save.

So I deleted the test sub domain and have been trying to figure out what the problem is.

It appears to be .css related, but if i re-install the templates .css files will I lose all my modules and articles?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

    • Found the fix:

Content > Article Manager > Parameters (button in toolbar, upper right)
disable the "Filter groups", e.g. select the "Public Front-end" option.

Must have toggled something when i was copying the site...lol
