Hi there. Got a quick question. I have sh404sef running on my site, and just updated to joomla 1.5.14. I haven't touched the website in about a week, and I came back today to find all my internal links broken. If I shut of sh404sef, the site runs fine without SEF url's. Is there a setting that I messed up somehow by updating? I've never had this problem before, and I didn't change anything with sh404sef. Thanks!
While you're waiting for a response here you should try searching or posting on the sh404sef forum to see if there are any known issues with the upgrade.
What version of SH404SEF are you using, as some of the previous versions have issues with 1.5.14. Download the latest version, remove the old one and reinstall, you will not lose any settings or cache data if you have not touched the default settings.
I have 1.5.14 running with SH404SEF with no issues so I have to say it is either the version or a directory permission error. Try the new install I reckon it will fix your problems.
Also, I see that SH404SEF will not be developed any more potentially. This could be a big problem. I have not gone public with my site, is there another SEF component that I should switch too before I rely too heavily on sh404SEF?
Excellent question, Jem! I would LOVE to! I'm a new joomla programmer, so I was wondering if joomla's core SEF makes 404 redirects as easily as SH404SEF. I could give or take project honeypot, but like how easy SH404SEF is.
The other problem is that when I shut off SEF404SEF and enable joomla's core SEF, my site breaks. Bad. None of the rockettheme template I have shows up, and the formatting is all screwy.
