I'm sorry but it's just my 2 cents.... Ever since Affinity, You should be including a Jomsocial templating option now with every release..
And many members make the same comment ever since Mynxx, every template should have VM integration.
Or ever since xx template xx feature / component should be included in every template forever.
(E.g. the Color Chooser from Chromataphore, Parallax from Vertigo, movable Modules from Affinity etc, etc.)
As RT shifts from template specific Modules / components to cross template compatibility, some of the features members are looking for are available here:
www.rockettheme.com/extensions
Your prices will go up, and the money comes in. but your services seem to slump.
See above....
When I started with Rocket, You downloaded a template... and there you had it.
I don't know when you joined RT, but when I joined, CB was in its infancy, VM was still in Beta, JomSocial, Twitter, Face book, etc. did not exist.
So now, along with 'just a template' members are wishing, wanting, and expecting a TEMPLATE CLUB to make all this stuff work together.
'How can I sync my Face book avatars with JomSocial and get my CB members integrated with my new phpBB3 forum?'
This is a template club..
See above. The templates work fine as they are distributed. Anything support over and above customization of the template itself should be considered a bonus.

I just wanted to post a general observation and does not really pertain to this thread or any other particular "no support" thread. Most questions that go unresolved or unanswered are related to people trying to do things that are not directly supported by the template. These things usually involve changing the layout or behavior of a particular part of a template. Most people who are new to web development and specifically XHTML and CSS, usually think that what they have in mind is a simple change, and don't realize quite what is involved in making it happen. This is not RT's fault, it's the XHTML and CSS specifications that define the rules. This stuff is not trivial, that's why we've gone to great lengths to make as many things as customizable and configurable from the admin as possible. If you are fairly knowledgeable in these technologies, then you probably will have no problem making changes as you realize that everything you do has trickle-down consequences to other areas of the layout as well as an impact for other browsers.
Most support threads take two forms, the first is a legitimate bug. Any bug or issue with a template or configuration you will find quickly resolved by our moderators. Those are always given top priority. The second form is anything related to customizing, custom code, or general modification outside the bounds of the regular design, is going to get less attention. Those usually require alot more work on the moderators part, and frankly are answered as a courtesy to help people understand what's involved in the changes they are asking for. The vast majority of people who complain or have issues about the lack of support are asking the second type of question.
Another way to get good support, is to be polite when asking, be thankful when helped, and in general be polite and considerate to the moderators. Moderators are people too, so if you insult them, or are generally rude in your communications, the help you receive is not going to be as good as if you were better behaved. This is just common sense, and good web etiquette.
Like I said, this is not directed at the author of this thread, or anyone in particular, just general observations.......
but never was the template as a whole updated 3 or 4 times within 10 - days of a release. That's just absurd.
But never before were there templates that at this level of complexity with integration of third party components and extensions. Should RT continue to produce 'vanilla' templates and leave everything else entirely up to you? Or should RT forge ahead and offer you a much greater 'jumping off point' and work with the members of the community?
True, with Affinity, there have been five, not twelve updates.... but all the issues so far with the template have been addressed and updated.
But if you are providing sites for clients, certainly you need some skill and ability to customize the templates that are offered.
You make some valid points, but we are here to support what we offer, not build your websites or beyond the TOS fulfill your every wish.
