SOLVED No Spellchecker

    • I am using tinymce and I have no spellchecker whatsoever. I see it is included in the files
      /joomla/plugins/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/spellchecker
but there is no indication in the editor that there is any spellchecker and intentionally mispelling a word reveals nothing and I get no red underline. Altho my Joomla install is only two weeks old I downloaded the tinymce spellchecker plugin today and overwrote the existing files in case it was an update issue, but no results. A search of this forum, google and joomla has not uncovered any post where the spellchecker simply does not appear at all. Any ideas?

    • Joe, thanks for the response. No it does not work in any template. Is there a setting in the Joomla install to turn it on?

    • Opera 10 has a spell-checker built-in with the browser so you might wanna try that :)

    • Prim,
Thanks for responding. Opera is not a viable solution because we will need to give a variety of people "author" permissions and they will each already have a preferred browser. My google research has turned up a variety of other editors that are supposed to be joomla compatible. Should I just start trying to install different editors? There was quite a few threads about editing tools a year or so ago and I am hoping that someone has addressed this in the interim.

    • In the Joomla Forums someone suggested Try using the JCE Editor instead. I did. It rocks! My problem solved
