    Template fails install

Posted 15 years 6 months ago
    • I am trying to install Bento Box Rocket Launcher for 1.5 and although it tries I get the error "Unable to find install package". Any tips or suggestions on what I need to do here or has anyone else ever had this problem?

      Cheers,

      JL

    • I downloaded the template via the website by using the "Download" button. The name of the file is: Joomla_RT_BentoBox_j15.zip

I then attempt to upload it by logging into Joomla and then going to Extensions - Install/Uninstall > Browse - find the file and then hit "Upload File and Install". I have done this before on other accounts and never this problem. The file is 8mb, would that make any difference?

Is there another way i can install the template?

      Cheers,

      JL

    • You may want to check the memory limit in you server's php.ini file.

Note this is not part of Joomla or the template...

    • It seems that I was going about it the wrong way. You can't install Joomla and the install the rocket launcher vie the Joomla backend as I understand it. I will have a go the other way by creating a SQL database first then doing it as per the instructions. Seems kinda strange to me ....

    • There are a few ways to do it;

The Rocket Launcher is for a clean install only, you can't add samppled data to an exixting install.

Of you want to apply the template to an existing use the template file instead of the Rocket Launcher, then add the extensions.

Or do a clean install with the Rocket Launcher and on screen 6 choose to add the samle data or not.

    • Thanks Jem. The thing that confuses me is the part about the "clean install". I still have to install Joomla right (first) but I just have to add the rocket launcher a different way???? Does the rocket launcher have the Joomla program in it? I would think no...

    • RocketLauncher = Replicate Demo on your domain/localhost. It adds all the extensions, demo contents along with installation of Joomla. So, if you already have Joomla don't bother installing rocketlauncher.
    • Apache Version 2.2.14 (Unix) | PHP Version 5.2.12 | MySQL Version 5.1.43-log | Architecture x86_64 | OS Linux | Joomla Version 1.5.20 | pHpBB v3.0.7-PL1 | Firefox v3.6.8 | Internet Explorer 8 |

I have a brand new install of Joomla but will delete it and then go through the RocketLauncher procedure. All should be good to go then.

Thanks very much for your help guys. Hopefully it will all go well when I try it later tonight.

    • For RocketLaunchers...

      1. Extract the zip on your computer or directly in your servers web directory.
      2. If you extracted on your computer you need to upload the content via FTP.
      3. Go to /installation and install as you normally would with a default Joomla installation.
      4. Do NOT forget to press the Install sample data button!

      :)
