    K2 Category Issue

Posted 15 years 3 months ago
    • I cannot create a category in k2 and didn't know if this was a rockettheme issue or a K2 issue. I followed the quick steps community.getk2.org/notes/A_quick_step-b...ng_and_setting_up_K2 then I get a fatal error.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_internal_encoding() in /home/content/t/u/n/tunedin/html/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2category.php on line 49
I named the category C1 and the alias c1; so I don't understand.

      Thanks

    • It seems the issue you have is K2 issue, not the RokTabs issue. I googled your problem and found this thread . You may check it. I moved your thread from RokTabs forum to General Discussion.

    • Well I found out that it was indeed a K2 problem. Apparently when configuring a "Category" you have to select a template and there is a drop down menu but the only selection available is highlighted as "Default". It was reading the forums when I found that you have to create a new folder in the same directory and copy the contents of default templates and rename file my templates. Then you can choose it when you create a category.

    • Thanks for your reply. May I know whether the issue is solved?

    • .oO will have to try this as well. I had read on k2 forums that you needed to include mbstring in your php build... so I went through the process of doing so with easy apache via the WHO with root access. Now after reading the above, have to wonder whether the solution wasn't MUCH simpler!

    • Can you explain about "to create a new folder in the same directory and copy the contents of default templates and rename file my templates"?

I find into components/com_k2 template dir, but not find "my templates" file...

      ---

      Solved; just recompiled php
