    • Hello
I have not bought Fireworks and is not intended to do.
Can you suggest at least the open source alternative, Gimp ?
      Thank you

    • For what purpose?

If you just want to create a logo, any graphic editing software that can save as .png will do.

(There's really no need to edit the original logo when you can just create your own.)

If you want to work with the source files, Gimp, or even Photoshop won't do what Fireworks does.

    • Atma:

As far as open source, I have used a combination of both Gimp and Inkscape with moderate success. Both work on Linux and Windows (not sure about Mac) and between the two, you can usually accomplish what you need and there is great support for both on the web and on youtube. Just my 2 cents.

As far as Fireworks, you can download a trial - I believe - and get some use for a bit.

      @ JEM
It is not only touch the logo, but all the graphic elements with text

      @ Alyoshablue
Fireworks can try for 30 days on the same post ... after is 400 €

Too bad, I hope RT will consider in the future another opensource or free to modify the sources of these templates :?:

If you are a casual user and want to work on a template or two, the free 30 trial should allow you to do what you want.

If you are developing websites for clients and think you'll need to do a lot of editing to satisfy them, it's a worthwhile investment.

These types of post / discussions have been going on since the start, but RT holds fast to the concept of Fireworks being the best software for web graphics.

You're not the first to ask and certainly won't be the last, but it' not probable that it will happen.

Developer designer not to use a few times a year (more than 30 days).
It must be a special case

Ok understood, but I do not want to replace Fireworks photopshop  , but by an open source software or cheaper
