Mission Control listed 16 times under "templates"

Posted 13 years 2 months ago
    • First let me say that Mission Control is awesome. I could never go back to the standard Joomla Admin.

I have just updated Mission control to version 2.4 - I was on 2.1 before I think - and I now have no less than 16 instances of Mission Control listed under Templates.

4 each of the same ID - there are 4 ID's. 4 are listed as the Admin default.

So it looks as if instead of replacing existing instances of Mission Control on updates, it is simply adding to them.

      The template itself is 2.4.

it is not causing an issue, but I am sure it isn't right either.

    • I had no problems with duplicates (as I DID with versions prior to 2.4) while installing it on J2.5.1. J2.5.0 is too quirky for me.
Probably you have incorrect entries in your DB. So uninstall MC and then:
      1. Start PhpMyadmin
      2. Use the SEARCH button and search your DB for "rt_missioncontrol"
      3. You'll find the real and duplicates in the jml25_extensions table.
      4. Keep the one with "custom_data" field "{"last_update":.........."
      5. Delete the other ones.

      Then install MC v2.4

    • I was able to uninstall Mission Control and simply reinstall it to get rid of the redundant entries, without having to do any database modifications. Although my settings weren't preserved (not surprising) the custom logo I previously uploaded did remain active.

It's been a bit - how are you making out with this?
If it has been resolved please mark this as Solved.
If not, are you still having the same issue?

    • I have deleted Mission Control using PHPmyAdmin and then re-installed (I even deleted the updates) but when I install a new copy of 2.4 I get 4 instances of the Mission Control Template all listed with the same ID number and they are all selected as the default template.

Apparently this bug arises from Joomla itself but Andy has created a template fix, please see thread -> http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=422&t=157122&rb_v=viewtopic&start=30#p787807
